Course outline

In this introductory video we look at the paper overview - exploring what types of questions students will see and where on the paper.

  • Introduction - paper overview

In this video we focus on the 1-3 markers - where they occur and how to approach them, and will walk through some examples for the 2 and 3-markers.

  • Low-tariff questions

In these videos we look at the three types of 4-mark question that students will face - the item question, the key text question and the two methods in context questions. We look at 3 different strategies to answer the different types that enable students to differentiate between the three question types, and their different demands, and will walk through a number of examples for each question type.

  • 4-markers - item questions
  • 4-markers - MIC questions
  • 4-markers - key text questions

In this final (and longer) video we look at how to approach the 12 marker discuss questions (DHFWSA) through effective planning and scaffolding, and by working through three examples.
